Dawn to Dusk: Flats Fishing Thrills in St. Petersburg's Crystal Waters

Hey there! Just got back from an awesome flats fishing trip with SRS Adventures out of St. Petersburg, Florida. May is a great time to hit the flats around here - the water's warming up and the fish are getting active. We met up with Sumanth at 1:00 AM, which is early, but it's worth it to beat the heat and catch the fish when they're most active.

The weather was partly cloudy, which can be perfect for flats fishing. It keeps the water from getting too hot and spooky fish from spotting us too easily. We had great water conditions, crystal clear and calm - ideal for spotting fish. We tried a variety of techniques throughout the day, keeping things interesting and giving us the best shot at hooking up.

The highlight of the day was definitely when we hooked into a nice Red Snapper. These guys can be tricky to find in the flats, but when you do, it's always a fun fight. Sumanth did a great job working the fish in, and we got some great photos before releasing it back. Even though we were focusing on the flats, it's always cool to see different species show up.
