Explore St. Pete's Flats: Where Persistence Meets Paradise!
We had a great day out on the flats with Sumanth today, running a Mate's Fee Only Card Shared trip with SRS Adventures in St. Petersburg, Florida. May is a fantastic time for flats fishing here, with warmer waters bringing in a variety of species. We kicked off early, meeting at 1:00 AM to make the most of the day. The weather was on our side with clear conditions, and the water looked great - perfect for sight fishing on the flats.
We tried a variety of techniques throughout the day, adapting to what the fish were responding to. The clear conditions made it easier to spot fish, but they were being a bit tricky. We moved around different spots, trying to find where they were hiding. Even though the fish weren't cooperating as much as we'd hoped, it was still a great day to be out on the water. We kept at it, switching up our approach and staying positive.
Despite our best efforts, we didn't manage to land any big ones today. But that's fishing for you - some days they bite, some days they don't. What matters is that we had a good time out there. We covered a lot of ground, saw some cool stuff, and Sumanth got to practice different techniques. It's days like these that make you appreciate the ones where the fish are really biting. Plus, it's always fun to be out on the flats, taking in the sights and sounds of the area.
