Flats Fishing Frenzy: Sight Casting for Monster Bass in St. Pete
What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! Summer in St. Petersburg, Florida brought us some fantastic fishing conditions. The partly cloudy skies made for perfect sight fishing weather as I took pravieen and their crew out for a day on the flats. We set out in the early morning hours, ready to target some big Largemouth Bass with SRS Adventures.
Once the stage was set, we got right to work with some sight fishing techniques. The clear water and overcast conditions were ideal for spotting those big bass lurking in the shallows. We mixed it up with some flipping and pitching into likely holding spots, and even had some exciting topwater action using walking baits. The highlight of the day was when one of the crew hooked into a monster 21-inch Largemouth Bass - what a catch!
We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, having experienced some of the best bass fishing St. Petersburg has to offer. The flats here never disappoint, especially when you can combine sight fishing with other effective techniques like we did today.
